Following a meeting of a few staff and Dan Hopper from Design Think, we discussed the idea of Triple Impact Marking after seeing one of Dan’s fantastic posters. This is something that we were keen to develop further for many reasons but mainly to make student more aware of the expectations of submitting their work and to take action following feedback. Also, it is also useful for staff to reflect on the processes of feedback and consider and share best practice.
Below is an initial idea on the Triple Impact Marking process:
All feedback is welcome at this stage as the work will be developing in to a resource hat can be put in to practice and shared with staff and students alike.
With a major focus on literacy at present in all schools, we can engage with students through the use of technology. This can be achieved through the use of technologies such as blogging, video commentaries, new iPad apps such as Explain Everything and Coaches Eye but we can also raise the profile and help students remember through creating reminders or checklist. Below is an innovative use of ICT to do this:

The questions shown on these slides are all based on THUNKS by Ian Gilbert – a thunk being “a beguiling question about everyday things that stops you in your tracks and helps you to look at the world in a whole new light.” The beauty of a thunk is that there are no right or wrong answers, simply well-thought out answers that really challenge and stretch each student’s imagination.
